Her new California Contemporary Garden is a manifestation of her mantra — landscapes that are at once intimate, tranquil, chic and original. Her approach is collaborative and her new palettes for plants and hardscapes transform spaces to their equivalent of cozy warmth in addition to a sustainable, water wise ethos. As Catherine says: "Gardens must be livable, absolutely, but they also need to be lively, and they need to have a visual opinion. Each project varies in design, so they suit both the architecture of the house and the personality of the clients. The manners of creating gardens are endless, however within every project I try to combine three major goals: provision of an outdoor space that feasibly aligns with my client’s dreams and visions; that would compliment the maximum comfort and interest zone for the client and her/his guests; yet still be eco-warrier friendly." Catherine, who was born in France, went to Art School in Paris and then came over to the states and attended UCLA. After working in the film industry during an era of Art Direction for 17 years she returned to school studying Landscape Architecture and landed a new identity with the acceptance of her thesis she had built a design career around at UCLA.
