Brief: Erosion Control by Earth Dynamics of New England Recently, Earth Dynamics of New England completed a unique landscaping in the scenic town of Exeter, concerning erosion control. The arose due to major soil erosion concerns on a slope of a residential property, threatening both the landscape and possibly the foundation of the house. To address the issue, our skilled staff prepared an erosion control plan implementing a mix of native plants, boulders, and erosion control blankets. We even used locally sourced materials that were durable and all granite boulders aquiesced well to the natural setting to develop both stability and beauty while providing homeowner collaboration. We also incorporated a variety of native grasses and perennials that would offer not only beauty in florals, but were also positive for soil sustainability and make for a varied biodiversity approach. Another major challenge was that this site had quite a steeper slope which didn't provide easy access. Our team employed a grading effort to create terraced levels to better drain. This limited the possibility and risk of water runoff and diminishing erosion. As sloped terraces were constructed and finished, the initiated planting which worked to engage clients with the opportunity of success as their hard work paid off not only functionally but also in terms of a seeped productive space as a beautiful garden to experience the out of doors. Upon completion, the client expressed a sense of relief to have the effort allotted during a transitional effort that would develop with time. The landscaped area now not only was functional, but also yielded a lovely garden area with varied colors and textures throughout the season. Strategically erosion control remedies utilized proved beneficial in sustaining and manifesting the overall stability of a slope for longevity of property maintenance.
