The 38th St NW Hall Bathroom project transformed a once uninspired and cramped space into a modern oasis, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of this Glover Park rowhouse. The project began with a thorough assessment of the existing bathroom, which was characterized by a small, outdated layout and a dim atmosphere exacerbated by a deteriorating skylight dating back to the 1930s. By refurbishing and reopening this original skylight, we significantly increased natural light, creating a bright and airy environment that contrasts beautifully with the home’s historical charm. Key design choices included replacing the small pedestal sink with a sleek floating vanity that not only modernizes the space but also provides much-needed storage. This innovative design choice maximizes floor space while offering a contemporary aesthetic. Additionally, we installed a wall-mounted heater/towel warmer, which further elevates the functionality of the bathroom by providing comfort while freeing up valuable floor area, making the space feel larger and more inviting. The color palette and materials were meticulously selected to ensure a cohesive and stylish look. Aqua tiles featuring a subtle crackle glaze were installed in a stacked pattern, adding a sophisticated touch that enhances the modern makeover. These tiles not only contribute to the room's contemporary feel but also reflect light beautifully, enhancing the overall brightness of the space.
