About This Project

Lincoln Residence Kimberly Mercurio Landscape Architecture has transformed a wide-open outdoor area into a beautiful sanctuary that blends elegance and practicality at the Lincoln Residence. Located in the charming town of Lincoln, the intention of the was to make a peaceful escape for the clients while enhancing the inherent beauty of the site. The design illustrates a sophisticated mix of native plantings that were selected for their ability to thrive in the New England climate - providing for sustainability and minimal maintenance. Vibrant gardens full of perennials and evergreens offer beauty year-round, and flowering shrubs placed throughout the gardens burst with color in season. An emphasis of the landscape is a custom-designed stone patio created from locally-sourced bluestone - providing the right space for entertaining and relaxing. In addition to the patio, there is a sophisticated outdoor kitchen allowing the clients to host gatherings without losing the comforts of nature. The site produced an early challenge to the with the sloped topography. Kimberly Mercurio Landscape Architecture anticipated this challenge early and took advantage of the landscape changes with terracing techniques allowing tiered gardens - increasing the visual interest while improving drainage and soil stability. The use of natural stone for the retaining wall allows even more opportunity to support the design both in function and form. The is an extraordinary landscape which fulfills the anticipations of the clients - gently meandering paths, peaceful seating areas, and a beautiful water feature which provides sound. The impact is an incredible life change - becoming a gathering space for hosting and entertaining family and friends while also offering a breathtaking escape for relaxation.
