Pound Ridge Home Keith E. Simpson Associates, Inc. is proud to showcase the landscaping at the Pound Ridge Home. This represents and embodies the undeniable quality and innovation in landscaping and outdoor spaces that we strive for as designers. Located in the beautiful area of Pound Ridge, the was a challenge and a success, as it involved reinventing a large area, which required extensive planning, purpose, and effort to execute. Foremost on the design agenda was to establish an outdoor area that respectfully fit and blended into its natural environment, while also fitting the needs of the homeowners. With the intention of liberal renovations in mind, we conducted a site-wide evaluation to identify areas that would benefit from refinement and coloring, while establishing focal points that would add an edible aspect while attracting biodiversity. Our design included various native plants, as we wanted the landscape to improve with time, and require minimum upkeep by the clients. Among the key components of the , we constructed a custom stone patio with local bluestone, to add an outdoor space for gatherings and leisure. We also designed an aesthetically pleasing water feature, which included a composite waterfalland koi pond to emphasize tranquillity and ease of use, returning you to nature. Moreover, ornamental grasses coupled with flowering perennials were incorporated to visualize seasons and color, with natural stone retaining walls both practically functional, and visually complimentary. The did have its challenges, with little leveling and inadequate soil drainage. Our team designed and engineered a solution by resolving the problematic areas with proper drainage and grading, to prolong the health of the landscape. Even when the outdoor area was completeda fantastic outdoor space adapted to specific spatial functionality and private enjoyment of nature was the outcome. Lastly, the entire culmination of all activitiesdespite challenges during; the clients are thrilled. They are proud owners of both a sustainable and beautiful landscape. All elements were placed carefully with our forethought in mindand Keith E.
