Shady Lawn Completed By: Grounded Service Area: Covesville, Esmont, Faber, Howardsville, Keene, North Garden, Schuyler, Scottsville Grounded is pleased to present the 'Shady Lawn,' an exciting landscaping that balances nature and design. Situated in a beautiful area surrounding Covesville, this began as a family's wish for a cooler place to escape the summer heat. The respected the existing natural topography while enhancing the shade provided by two mature trees, and the incorporation of shade plants. The Grounded team curated plants including native ferns, hostas, and astilbes into their landscape design to provide a thick green color scheme that would thrive in lower light conditions. Ornamental grasses and perennials added texture and variety, beautifully altering the colors across seasonal changes in the landscape. One challenge was the sloping grade of the area combined with establishing draining to prevent pooling water. Our great team of landscapers employed great materials including permeable pavers for the pathways and natural stones for the retaining wall that addressed draining water, while adding a sophisticated touch to the . The result is a beautiful space that offered half a dozen stone pathways, a fire pit and seating area, along with a butterfly garden that provided a whimsical touch while attracting pollinators. The clients are excited and happy their new Shady Lawn, a perfect place to gather family, while increasing their property's curb appeal. Grounded is proud of this that represents quality for all, thoughtful design, and deep respect for nature. Together we changed a difficult area and space into a flourishing lawn and natural landscape.
