The New England Modern project transforms a modest ranch house into a stunning mountain retreat, seamlessly blending contemporary design with the natural beauty of its secluded setting in Lenox, MA. The renovation begins with a complete gutting of the interior, allowing for the creation of an expansive open loft area that invites light and air throughout the space. A striking feature of the design is the dining area, where the roof angles upward to maximize natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere for gatherings. A cherry and antique glass shoji partition elegantly encloses the stairwell, subtly defining the foyer while maintaining an open feel. The kitchen, a centerpiece of modern functionality, showcases high-end Italian stainless steel and colored glass cabinetry, complemented by carefully selected lighting fixtures and furniture from Italy that enhance the sophisticated aesthetic. Dark walnut wood flooring flows through the main living areas, while thick stone tiles are flush-set in the kitchen and foyer, providing a bold contrast and grounding the space in natural elements.
