Natural stone pathways, custom retaining walls, and beds of flowering plants and ornamental grasses create an ideal setting and inspire the aesthetics while adding structurally durable elements. Additionally, permeable pavers not only elevate the installation but facilitate sustainability by allowing rainwater to permeate the lawn while diverting runoff. One particular challenge of the stemmed from a slope in the lawn, which required grading and structural plantings to mitigate soil. By developing a tiered garden design within the strategy to address the slope, Mark Herman & Associates invested the challenges of grading and soil stability into an aesthetically refined feature by developing multiple (three) entities or focal points throughout the installation. Above all, the outdoor living area is the focal point of the which includes a visually designed cut-a-way patio with a fire pit, which makes the area ideal for entertaining family and guests under the stars. Ambient lighting highlighted the elements of the garden space at night, both in terms of aesthetics and visual safety. Overall, the developed into a high-end outdoor oasis that exceeded the clients’ expectations. The use of high-end and quality materials, aesthetic and functional design thinking and implementing the build created a tranquil escape of the natural environmental landscape located in the State of Florida.
