About This Project

Olmsteid/Plein Air 2018 The Olmsteid/Plein Air 2018 is one such eye-popping metamorphosis, an effort that Lights Over Atlanta is proud to introduce and a striking union between grass and art. Tucked away in the middle of North Atlanta, this set out to resemble an outdoor oasis within the property designed to compliment the houses natural setting while serving as the perfect place to unwind, hang out, and enjoy time with friends. Central to this is the thoughtful design of a layered landscape consisting of native plants, ornamental grasses, and perennials that bloom in succession. Our designers used durable, sustainable materials including local rocks and reclaimed wood to create natural pathways that bend and weave through the garden, allowing you to experience the place up close and appreciate its beauty. The biggest challenge we had was the slope and so we incorporated a number of terraced gardens into the design. This created both visual interest, and assisted with ensuring that excess water would not remove the soiland the plants would outlive the process. We installed a smart, efficient irrigation system, using the best practices our skilled crew had at hand to provide every plant with the needed water supply. This ended with a gorgeous centerpiece: a custom fire pit and seating, which is perfect for evening get-togethers. Then add up a little outdoor light and a great ambiance will reflect on this space as it would look like a magic at night to help the lush landscaping shine, then entice clients and guests to set a while to enjoy the scene. The client was very pleased with the end result creating an outdoor oasis that reflects their personality and passion in life.
