Madison Park House Summary The Madison Park House landscape , undertaken by Scot Eckley, Inc., showcases the beauty that can be realized with outdoor spaces in the Pacific Northwest. This was a full transformation that created a cohesive design and execution process, blending the architecture of the home with its surroundings. The unpacking began with developing a well-layered, lush landscape celebrating our native plants and enhancing sustainability and biodiversity. The installation included a range of stunning Pacific Northwest plants native to the area, such as a variety of ferns, wildflowers, and evergreen trees. Work was done to identify native plants that could thrive in this somewhat moist climate. A challenge was presented by the steep slope in the backyard which required a variety of terracing solutions. Our team developed a series of natural stone retaining walls made of locally sourced basalt. The walls created beautifully defined levels in the garden. Pathways from reclaimed wood provided visitors with a clear route through the garden and connected all elements of the . The primary feature of the landscape was a beautifully designed water feature that spills softly into the koi pond, creating a lovely focal point for the garden and inviting local animals into the garden. The sound of falling water is soothing and reflects the space's invitation to rest and enjoy the surroundings. Along with the attractive design of the garden, Scot Eckley, Inc. included several water-efficient irrigation components to support the lush planting. Ultimately an attractive was completed that is as sustainable as it is beautiful. Our clients were amazed at the final reveal which brought the landscape from fine concept through to fully realized space outside of the home. Expectations were surpassed on the integration of the landscape to the home and the excitement that potential encouraged in hosting guests in addition to the internal clarity to settle and reflect.
