Summary: Shoreline Improvements by Breezy Hill Nursery Inc. Breezy Hill Nursery Inc. is excited to share this 'Shoreline Update' landscape , which improved the appearance and usability of a waterfront property in the Antioch and surrounding area. Due to a general redesign of the shoreline, the concentrated on the issues of erosion control, aesthetics and ecology. Although our professional team dealt with the challenges of sealing the shoreline while enhancing the local ecosystem for wildlife, we ended up implementing an aesthetic with local plant material including grasses and perennial flowers that not only complemented the colors and textures of the landscape but also controlled soil erosion. Eco-friendly materials like locally sourced boulders to build natural retaining walls and permeable pavers for surface infiltration for water drainage and decreasing runoff were incorporated throughout. As part of the , we created a charming, meandering path to a custom-built hardwood dock, made from a sturdy hardwood that withstands the elements while providing water access in the lake/water/waterfront setting. The use of simple materials, construction, and design enhances the property through usability and beauty. Despite the challenges forced onto the due to the ability to adjust with water levels dramatically changing during the duration of the job alongside maintaining sustainable practices, the team creatively designed and applied methods to create a shoreline that would withstand changing environmental conditions in the future. Overall, the completion resulted in a breathtaking landscape that was not only sufficient for the clients overall needs but often exceeded the clients initial ideas and expectations. The Shoreline Update not only rejuvenated this property into a great outdoor experience for families, gatherings and recreational enjoyments, it connected or reconnected clients back to the natural aesthetic qualities we like to see in our surroundings.
