Broadview Garden by Wittman Estes Landscape Located in the active neighborhood of Seattle, the Broadview Garden demonstrates the thoughtful combination of ecology and design by Wittman Estes Landscape. Completed in 2023, this transformative landscape balances form and function specifically tailored to the homeowner's needs. The focal point of Broadview Garden is the collection of native plants chosen for their resilience and ecological value. The design of the garden utilizes a variety of textures and colors, creating a visually dynamic landscape bed that grows and prospers throughout four seasons. The main design features a meandering path that was created with locally-sourced basalt stones, offering longevity while weaving in a natural complement to the landscape. Wittman Estes faced multiple challenges on this , including large amounts of elevation change, and the desire to leave in the existing mature trees. Our team was able to find solutions to these challenges by implementing a tiered planting bed which not only compliments the topography but also lightens the reclamation of the condition for the new planting beds while making sure to drain. To improve on outdoor living, a large poured patio out of a durable, sustainable hardwood was added as a surface perfect for entertaining and relaxation. The fixtures for the exterior lights were added in a way that felt bright and inviting at night extending the use of outdoor area past sunset. The end result of the Broadview Garden is a beautiful landscape that provides peace and elegance. From the developed palette of materials, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design solutions, the space felt perfect to the client. Wittman Estes Landscapes has met our continuing goal for quality and a satisfied client with building a landscape that we'd like to enjoy for the future created in nature with living designs for the seasons.
