About This Project

Context Document: Not Just a Horse Property A "More than a Horse Property" landscaping in Sterling transformed the look and utilitarian value of a sprawling equestrian estate. Done by Bilowz Associates Inc. This was a major undertaking in creating a balance of natural and functional beauty so that the horses as well as the humans could enjoy the space. In the centre of the was the creation of a custom built paddock area, complete with heavy duty treated cedar fencing, for safety who needs good looks right? In addition, we planted lush, native plant beds specifically designed to provide shade and shelter around the paddocks. With the application of drought-resistant plants, we saved on water consumption and improved the biodiversity on the whole landscape. The slope was another challenge of this , which we embraced by designing terraced gardens to add a unique touch, and also help the drainage and soil stability. By adding stone pathways, influencing practical elegance to the property and making home views and lively images even livelier, all made from available granite. The end result was a peaceful and welcoming landscape that far surpassed the clients wildest dreams. It soon became a true sanctuary, with a fully integrated irrigation system that kept the plants healthy while also providing a beautiful outdoor entertaining space with a fire pit and seating area. Bilowz Associates Inc. was proud to complete a that provided horse owners with necessary functionality while also creating a whimsical space for family events and relaxation.
