We selected high-quality materials like natural stone pavers for the patio that would be durable in the chicagoland winters while bringing timeless beauty to the space. The design of the front yard differed from the backyard; we designed a larger patio for entertaining, while we selected colorful plantings, intentionally chosen for seasonal interest and low-maintenance needs. One of the challenges we encountered, but never intimidated us at Hively Landscaping, Inc., was the gradual slope of the front yard. The yard required a great amount of grading and soil stabilization before work could begin. Our landscape team did an exceptional job at tackling every aspect of the job and implementing high-level landscaping practices to ensure the grading was completed seamlessly. The grading had to be established properly for the beautiful patio with the natural stone pavers, while the drainage also required the grading to be flawless to avoid water pooling. Attention to detail and craftsmanship make this shine, providing peace of mind to the client of the longevity of the job as well as ensuring the health of established plant materials. The outcome visually speaks for itself in this front yard, as we successfully exceeded our client’s expectations with the finished product.
