Cecelia and Neil's Master Bathroom remodel in Cary, NC, transformed their outdated space into a stunning reflection of vintage elegance, embodying the charm of a throwback retro style. The original layout featured a cumbersome garden tub that not only dominated the floor space but also cramped the shower enclosure, leaving the overall functionality lacking. Recognizing the need for a comprehensive redesign, we embarked on a project to reimagine this essential area of their home. The remodel began with the removal of the old tub, shower enclosure, vanity, and tile, allowing us to start with a clean slate. The couple expressed a strong preference for the allure of a claw-foot free-standing tub, which we positioned strategically to occupy a fraction of the space previously taken by the garden tub. This innovative placement opened up the shower area significantly, creating a more spacious and inviting environment. The addition of bright subway tile in the shower enclosure contrasted beautifully with the dark wood elements throughout the bathroom. To enhance the floor, we laid octagonal mosaic tiles, framed with a sleek black accent line, providing a timeless touch that complements the retro theme. A warm, rich dark wood "Furniture Style" vanity was installed, topped with luxurious Carrara marble, creating an elegant focal point within the room. The half-wall separating the water closet from the main area received a crown of matching Carrara marble, seamlessly tying together the vanity and the surrounding design elements. For added functionality, we incorporated a wall-hung cabinet for extra storage, ensuring that the space remains organized and clutter-free. Special attention was given to the shower area, where we topped the curb with Carrara marble and installed the glass enclosure directly on this surface, enhancing the sleek aesthetic. The culmination of these design choices resulted in a bright yet inviting retro-style Master Bath that Cecelia and Neil now enjoy using daily, perfectly blending functionality with timeless beauty.
