About This Project

The Formal Dining Room project, initiated in 2018, was a remarkable transformation of a dated space that required a sophisticated update. Initially characterized by a strie faux finish that had lost its appeal, the room needed a comprehensive redesign to create a more inviting and elegant atmosphere. Collaborating closely with the client, we embarked on a journey to select a beautiful new color palette that would breathe life into the area while complementing the existing architectural features. To enhance the overall aesthetic, we chose coordinating fabric for the existing drapery panels on one side of the room, ensuring that the new elements harmonized seamlessly with the traditional charm of the space. The standout feature of this project was the 18th-century wood carving over the mantle, which we expertly whitewashed to align with the fresh color scheme. This meticulous craftsmanship not only revitalized the piece but also added a touch of historical elegance that defined the room’s character. In addition to the color and fabric updates, we undertook the careful restoration of the dining chairs, meticulously touching up the wood and leather to restore their original luster. The marble fireplace also underwent significant rejuvenation; we skillfully removed pitting and stains that had accumulated over time, allowing its natural beauty to shine through once more. The culmination of these efforts resulted in a stunning formal dining room that blends traditional elegance with modern sophistication. This project, with a cost range of $5,001 to $7,500, stands as a testament to thoughtful design and meticulous execution. The room is now not only a functional dining area but also a visually striking space that invites gatherings and celebrations, embodying the client’s vision of a welcoming yet refined dining experience. The transformation was a resounding success, leaving the client thrilled with their newly revitalized formal dining room.
