Outline: Hidden Oaks (a for Daniels Landscape Inc.) The landscaping at Hidden Oaks by Daniels Landscape Inc. is a striking use of nature and beauty in this gorgeous community. At a little more than half an acre, the design was created to capture all of the natural beauty while providing a refuge for the homeowners. One of the many highlights of this is a custom-built stone path, that gracefully winds throughout the lush greenery and leads to a private seating area. Utilizing locally sourced flagstone for the pathway's construction not only adds to the rustic charm of the estate but brings permanence and durability as well. We achieved the rustic personality around the winding path by using a wide array of native plants that offer visual texture, such as afforded by colorful succulents, fragrant lavender, and minimal irrigation used from ornamental grasses inviting biodiversity to the experience. The had a few challenges, including a steep slope and the soil quality was primarily rock but the design team addressed this challenge by creating terraced spaces and utilizing natural boulders to visually provide an element of interest on the slope and practically capture the drainage and soil. The homeowners now have ample space for vegetable gardening and flowering plants, while also providing more character and sustainment for the landscape. The highlight of the Hidden Oaks is the custom outdoor living area with a custom built pergola, a fire pit, and seating area around the fire pit. This area acts as a meeting place for family and friends, and is designed with the comfort equaling that of the sitting area indoors, merging beauty with nature. The pergola construction was built using reclaimed wood, which adds an eco-friendly aspect to the home while tying into the design intent of the homeowner.
