Story: School Lawncare by RH Hilarios Landscaping LLC As a proud team at RH Hilarios Landscaping LLC, we completed the 'School Lawncare' , turning an unused school yard into a colorful outdoor space for students and staff at the heart of our service areas, as in Bowie, College Park and Silver Spring. We provided a full landscaping renovation, including the installation of dense, drought-resistant sod, providing the school with a lush, verdant green lawn that beautifies the landscape. We experienced several challenges during the including poor soil and uneven terrain. Our response included soil testing and amendment, organic compost and nutrient based fertilizer were used to provide an ideal growth medium for the sod. Our experience team leveled the ground, creating a smooth even surface that improved drainage and accessibility for the students. Along with the installation of sod, we installed native plant beds around the edge with colorful perennials, and flowering shrubs to attract local pollinators, facilitate biodiversity, and environmentally educate the students. Additionally, we applied sustainably-sourced mulch to the ground to suppress weeds and mitigate moisture to improve durability of our landscape design. The outcome was a well-maintained lawn and colorful landscaping that excited administrators along with the local community. The area served as another outdoor classroom space, or additional resource for play and relaxation, while getting students in touch with nature while providing a therapeutic learning and playing space. RH Hilarios Landscaping LLC has not only transformed their outdoor space but invested in the well-being of the school environment and the students.
