About This Project

Design - Build Mountain Home Landscape Vail, CO Neils Lunceford, Inc. is excited to share the completed 'Design - Build Mountain Home Landscape’ in the gorgeous Vail, CO. The design concept was to create a mountain site property into a tranquil landscape and outdoor area that would somewhat blend into the pristine alpine environment while giving the owner a landscape to enjoy. The articulated design included a multi-level stone terraced area constructed with locally sourced granite, which elegantly connected the mountain home structure to the surrounding landscape. The use of native plants and colorful wildflowers are incorporated as a seasonal planting to create interest and color, while helping to support the ecosystem. A custom water feature was created, along with a gently cascading feature, to both calm the senses and attract wildlife, which added to the character of the property. One of the challenges that we encountered was the slope that the was built upon, and we utilized creative solutions to stabilize the slope without compromising the design. We included some erosion control methodology as well as keeping the reclaimed timber as a retaining wall, to successively hold back the slope, while creating the required aesthetic. The landscape turned out beautifully. The overall outcome of the landscape design to the homeowner worked seamlessly with the house and gave the owners a peaceful outdoor living space to unwind, entertain, and relax. As is customary with our clients, they loved the attention to detail and quality we provided, which made this fulfilling and a true reflection of our mission. We continue to strive for excellence in landscaping in the whole of greater Summit and Grand County areas to create outdoor spaces as an extension of the amazing Colorado landscape and mountains.
