About This Project

The "Beachbound" , developed by HALI BECKMAN, LTD., is located along the beautiful coastline in Rhode Island. This represents our commitment to quality service in the landscaping industry, through the process of converting this coastal property into an incredible outdoor experience that fits its natural surroundings. The included a thoughtful layout of native plant gardens, permeable walkways, and a lovely waterfront terrace. We used durable, locally sourced materials for our hardscape, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing landscape that uses the beauty of the natural stone. We specified salt-tolerant plants to not only prettify the landscape but to also ensure the plantings could withstand the salty coastal elements. One of our biggest challenges was managing the sandy soil, which overtook any ability to drain. We opted for modern drainage strategies used by the experts, including a rain garden that curtailed stormwater runoff, but would also create a useful habitat for wildlife. This intervention ensured the ecological integrity of the sound, while also providing a great backdrop for the homeowners. The result is a spectacular blend of function and beauty. The Beachbound has a significant amount of outdoor decking for relaxing, a comfortable area with a firepit for gatherings in the evenings, and winding paths through lush gardens for future adventures. The clients were more than pleased with the outcome and remarked on the s stunning integration of the design with nature and how the landscaping now allows them to enjoy living in front of the ocean.
