BellaWood Initiative

The Bellawood project represents a significant evolution in the design and functionality of a family home in Nashville, TN. Commenced in 2018, this endeavor was not only about expanding the physical space but also about creating a welcoming environment that adapts to the changing needs of a growing family. The clients, who have become dear to me over the years, sought to enhance their living experience, leading to a series of thoughtful additions that reflect both style and practicality. At the heart of the expansion are two dedicated TV viewing areas, designed for comfort and entertainment, where family gatherings can be enjoyed in a cozy atmosphere. A game table with built-ins has been integrated into the layout, providing a perfect space for family game nights or casual gatherings with friends. The inclusion of a wet bar adds a touch of elegance and convenience, allowing for effortless hosting. The design incorporates a warm fireplace area, creating a focal point that invites relaxation and connection. Additional bathrooms—three in total—have been strategically placed to accommodate the family's needs, enhancing both privacy and functionality. A spacious three-car garage was meticulously crafted to ensure ample storage and ease of access. The pool room serves as a recreational haven, while an office dedicated to Mom provides a quiet retreat for work and creativity. Recognizing the active lifestyle of the family, a drop zone for the boys was included to help manage their belongings efficiently, and a larger laundry room was designed to streamline household chores. Each aspect of the Bellawood project showcases superior craftsmanship, with attention to detail in materials and finishes that harmonize with the home’s traditional aesthetic. The outcome is a beautifully cohesive space that not only meets the immediate needs of the family but also provides a warm, inviting atmosphere that they will cherish for years to come. The collaboration with Leo Long, the contractor, ensured that every element was executed to perfection, while the stunning photography by Melissa Mills captures the essence of this remarkable transformation.
