About This Project

Introducing The Aguilar by JDS Outdoor Designs Located in Los Angeles, the Aguilar embodies our philosophy of providing landscapes that transform outdoor space. To achieve this vision, we teamed up with Aguilar family to create a beautiful yet functional landscape that positively affected their property. On every , JDS Outdoor Designs will perform a comprehensive site analysis to develop a scope of work based on the needs and desires of the clients. The Aguilar featured a beautiful design of native plants to provide color and biodiversity throughout the year as well as sustainability from low water usage. We also designed natural stone paths to navigate through the lush garden, while ensuring that flagstone was sourced locally. One major design challenge with the involved the slope of the site. To create level planting areas while continuing to provide benefit of the slope, we utilized grading solutions that benefitted the plants and users. We also ensured our site drainage scheme would not cause erosion or other issues, and make sure the site looked good doing it. To add an element of sophistication, we built a custom designed pergola made from sustainably sourced cedar. It was the perfect shaded spot for family gatherings. We also added strategically placed LED lighting to help the family enjoy their space more even after the sun had set. The turned out to be a stunning landscape oasis for the Aguilar family to enjoy, and it fulfilled all the functions and aesthetic qualities they were seeking. The enhanced the aesthetic quality of their home and provided the family with a beautiful landscape to reflect on their family lifestyle and connection to nature while being able to relax and enjoy the space.
