This turned an everyday NVYard into a beautiful outdoor refuge in the middle of Northern Virginia. The landscape also includes a sophisticated mix of native plants to sustain the site and complement the surrounding features. We chose high quality materials for our stone pathways and for the custom designed cedar garden beds that we had built: easy on the eyes, but also low maintenance and built to last. A subsurface irrigation system will ensure that the lush and vibrant greenery stays healthy no matter the season. As our property is on a slope, one of the big problems we faced was utilizing that slope correctly and making it work for us and our design we did this by creating tiered planting beds. In addition to maximizing the usable space, this design also provided visual interest and depth. Meticulously chosen ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs bring year-round color and texture, exciting the eye and appealing to wildlife. For outdoor lighting, we strategically placed fixtures to shine light on specific features to light up the beautiful landscape so our client can appreciate their new home even at night. The end result is an ideal blend of form and function that makes the outdoors the perfect destination for family get-togethers and peaceful evenings alone.
