Renovated Patio Reveals the Backyard! by GLDesigns Right in the heart of Ambler, GLDesigns began an extensive landscaping and planning that would change exterior living space for our excited clients. Our most recent called "Renovated Patio Reveals the Backyard!", depicts how we blended contemporary design and nature’s ecosystem throughout an emerging area from Audubon to Wyndmoor. The began with an evaluation of the existing concrete patio area and the barely functional, inoperable space, which held no appeal. Our design team worked methodically to select and implement carefully crafted, durable, and weather resistant materials including, but not limited to, natural stone pavers with a blend of custom porcelain tile work to provide beautiful new finish for space. The envisioned patio was made to feel integrated with the existing landscape, which allowed the inside and outside of the clients’ homes to flow into one another seamlessly. While implementing the designs, various obstacles were overcomewe were faced with grading uneven ground to meet the ’s long-term water management plan and avoid future pooled water problems. We worked closely with the owners’ landscape team to create and incorporate a custom fire pit area that is ergonomically designed, and doubles up for seating, out of previously-owned reclaimed wood that will all hold a special family value for years of memories to come. Further, the landscape components culminated with native vibrant perennial gardens organized throughout all seasonsadding color, and wildlife engagement to the surroundings. The end result was absolutely remarkable. A destination patio space for relaxing and entertaining, with gardens banks offering plenty of life and a variety of spaces.
