About This Project

Estate Home by GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture At the intersection of Seattle's urban and residential landscapes lies the 'Estate Home' Landscaping , completed in 2019 by GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture. The was steeped in elegance and utility, and the design ambitious, but we very much enjoyed the process from concept to construction, resulting in a serene outdoor space fitting of the estate's architectural proportions. The design included appropriately designed gardens that allowed for use of native Northwest plants and flame-colored tropical plants, all of which bloomed and changed color through every season. High-end materials were incorporated into the design that would seamlessly link indoor and outdoor living experiences, such as the clean lines of a natural stone path or sustainably sourced hardwood decks. Given the slope of the property, there was a challenge of creating tiered landscaping to correct the erosion it faced, while maintaining visual interest. Our team developed an engineered landscape as a great solution that beautifully incorporated stone retaining walls made of locally sourced materials. The client was delighted by the final , which included an outdoor kitchen, a water feature, and ample planting beds that provoked relaxation and entertainment along the way. The client was delighted by all the elements and detail-oriented landscape that GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture developed, and there was a bond created with the clients. One of our primary goals was to provide of a very high quality, but also an environmentally sustainable landscape, all while creating a moment of landscape luxury. The 'Estate Home' will always be one of GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture's proudest products completed. It exemplifies the values that GCH Planning & Landscape Architecture is able to offer in the competitive Seattle, Washington landscape market.
