FRENCH CHATEAU ~ LANDSCAPE & POOL French Chateau Landscape and PoolLocation: Sarasota, FloridaDesigner: Design Scapes An entrancing outdoor oasis, it boasts the charm of classic french gardens while fusing seamlessly with contemporary luxury. We created this landscape with careful planning, attention to detail, and awareness of the often brutal climate in Julian to work with the lifestyle of the clients. Highlights of the include a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by tiered gardens filled with a wide variety of both native and exotic plants expertly chosen for their adaptability. The stone and textured paver palette we used for the elegant path ways emulates the cobblestone like streets of a charming French village. There is a specially designed fountain that is the focal point, inspiring and encouraging the eye and mind to unwind and enjoy the gentle sounds inside and outside. The most difficult obstacles we encountered were the natural incline of the property. Using some novel grading methods for appropriate drainage, our team of experienced professionals successfully developed a terraced layout. This enabled us to maximise the useable space available, allowing for a smooth transition from the pool area to the gardens for both aesthetically and functionally. Employing natural materials, such as handwork stone and top quality landscape materials without long-term concerns, provides durable and low maintenance solutions. Sustainable practices are integral to our design for example, drought-resistant plants that flourish in our area and require little water. The end result is a stunning landscape that is both pleasing to the eye and a serene escape for the owners and their guests! The client was very pleased with the result and appreciated how well beauty and function worked together in the final product, as well as how the overall craftsmanship reflected what Design Scapes is known for. This is proof of our commitment to service and bringing our client’s vision to life to the greater Sarasota area from Bee Ridge to Longboat Key and Siesta Key.
