About This Project

The American Foursquare Revived project transformed a classic 1910 Foursquare home in Nashville's historic West End, breathing new life into a structure that was on the verge of being sold by its owners. Our design-build team meticulously crafted a remodel that harmonizes modern livability with the home's historical significance. Central to the renovation was a thoughtfully designed rear addition that features a first-floor master suite, a contemporary powder room, and an expansive kitchen that connects seamlessly to a walk-out basement. The addition's hipped roof not only mirrors the main house's architectural style but also elegantly fits beneath a second-story window, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic. In addition to the structural enhancements, we created a new screened porch and a large deck, providing ample outdoor living space that complements the interi. The kitchen was opened up to the remodeled family room, fostering a sense of connectivity and flow throughout the main living areas. To maintain the home's original charm, we incorporated custom-built columns and casework that cleverly disguise a structural beam, marrying functionality with design. The interior finishes reflect a commitment to quality and style, with Shaker-style cabinets installed in both the master bath and kitchen. These cabinets are topped with exquisite Cambria quartz countertops, featuring a two-toned treatment that adds visual interest and texture, making the spaces both inviting and sophisticated. The result of this thoughtful remodel is a home that not only meets the modern needs of its inhabitants but also pays homage to the historical character of the American Foursquare style. This project stands as a testament to the potential of historic homes when approached with creativity and craftsmanship, ultimately creating a serene sanctuary for the owners to enjoy for years to come.
