The Sarno project exemplifies a harmonious blend of modern living with historical charm, seamlessly connecting a two-story home to a century-old pool house. Located in the picturesque setting of Melbourne, FL, the initiative began in 2019 with the goal of transforming the existing structures into a cohesive living space. The original layout featured a breezeway connecting the two buildings, which limited the functionality and flow of the home. Recognizing the need for a more integrated design, the owners envisioned relocating their master bedroom from the second floor to the pool house, thereby creating a continuous living area that enhances both accessibility and comfort. To achieve this vision, a thoughtfully designed addition was constructed to bridge the two structures. This new section not only facilitates the transition between the house and the pool house but also includes an accessible bathroom and a spacious dressing area, catering to the evolving needs of the homeowners. The design choices reflect a commitment to both aesthetics and functionality, with an emphasis on natural light and openness. Large windows and sliding doors were strategically placed to provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape while ensuring a bright and airy atmosphere within the new master suite. Craftsmanship played a pivotal role in the project, with skilled artisans carefully selecting materials that complement both the old and new elements of the home.
