The Beach Side Cottage project was a transformative endeavor aimed at revitalizing a structure that had experienced numerous additions over the years, resulting in a disjointed appearance. Located in the charming coastal town of Melbourne Beach, FL, this 2019 renovation focused on harmonizing the existing elements while enhancing the overall functionality of the home. One of the primary challenges was the outdated carport, which was not only falling into disrepair but also detracted from the overall aesthetic appeal. The team replaced the carport with a modern design that seamlessly integrated with the cottage's coastal charm, featuring durable materials that withstand the salty air and harsh weather conditions typical of beachside living. In addition to the carport, the project included the construction of a new back porch, designed thoughtfully to cater to the owners’ unique needs, particularly providing a comfortable screened area for their indoor cats. This new outdoor space was crafted with high-quality, weather-resistant materials that promote longevity and ease of maintenance, ensuring it remains a cozy retreat for years to come.
