The Back Road project in Glenbrook, NV, transformed a dated 1990s home into a stunning, modern residence that honors its historical roots while providing contemporary comfort. Purchased in June 2016 with the vision of becoming a “forever” home, the property came with unique challenges due to its previous use as a vacation rental. Upon initial inspection, the interior featured white carpeting, glossy orange wood finishes, and white tile countertops, all of which detracted from the home’s potential. However, the solid structure and the beauty of the Glenbrook community, rich in history and character, inspired a comprehensive renovation. Commencing in 2019, the project focused on reimagining the layout to enhance functionality and flow. The design choices embraced a rustic yet modern aesthetic, incorporating natural materials that reflect the surrounding environment. The original floor plan was reconfigured to create open living spaces, allowing for an abundance of natural light and improved connectivity among rooms. Custom cabinetry crafted from reclaimed wood, combined with contemporary stone countertops, provided both style and durability in the kitchen and bathrooms. Attention to detail was paramount throughout the renovation.
