Lake Barcroft Landscaping by Native Plant Landscape Design Corp Located within the calm community of Lake Barcroft, this landscape by Native Plant Landscape Design Corp takes advantage of nature while enhancing the home owner’s property. The design team’s task was to take a landscape built on typical suburban conventions and completely change it into an exciting, sustainable landscape that fits nicely into the region. To start the , an analysis of the site occurred - where unique traits of the landscape and challenges the landscape posed were considered. The design team utilized natives that would tolerate and thrive in the environment. An excellent display of blooming perennial flowers, grasses, and shrubs were organized in the landscape, creating a diverse garden that would work through all the seasons. Natural stone was used as pathways to create a friendly and inviting experience through the landscape. Permeable pavers were also incorporated to give appeal and improve drainage and erosion in the landscape. A small rain garden was established to deal with stormwater runoff, improving environmental concerns, while continuing to create habitat for the local fauna. Perhaps the greatest challenge faced on this was the inconsistent grades and soil quality. The team skillfully utilized products to amend the soil and contour the areas used for planting. By using quality processes, the allowed us to create a landscape that will grow as recognized and flourish. What resulted from the is a very beautiful landscape that not only appears beautiful to the human eye, but also creates a sanctuary for local fauna excitedly living in and around the landscape. The owners were amazed at how the change transformed their backyard and said it truly blended into nature and outdoor lifestyle area.
