My Home! by My Landscape Guide Located in La Vergne, the 'My Home!' landscaping showcases the talent and vision of My Landscape Guide. We serve the communities of Lascassas, Murfreesboro, and others, and have principles of quality and innovation for outdoor spaces. At the outset of the , our team was tasked with transforming a small backyard space into a lovely retreat. We conducted a full site analysis, identified drainage issues, and determined that we could improve the hard and soft services by adding some new soil. We used high-quality organic compost and mulched throughout to enhance the soil for a sustainable landscape. As we progressed with the , we added beautiful native plants such as flowering perennials and shrubs that meet the needs for the aesthetic appeal and increased biodiversity. We also made sure to enhance the aesthetics by being intentional as well as functional in the materials we used. For example, we used natural stone for the patio and pathways that complement, rather than compete with, the landscape. While we worked on the , we built a custom fire pit, with a seating area made of reclaimed wood, as a distinct feature of the . It helps to create a gathering space for families and friends to spend time together during the evenings, and while staring into the fire, for late-night conversations under the stars. We developed a fountain water feature that adds both beauty to the space, and also adds a tranquil element to nurture birds and other wildlife that utilize our backyard landscapes. The client, with our guidance, faced challenges with unlevel ground and existing, not so desirable vegetation on the job site, but worked those challenges into the , whether by determining their usefulness or just totally removing them. The final is what we hope represents the integrity of balance between utility and beauty, as well as a labor of love. The client could not be happier with the space and how it truly reflects who they are, and further, added benefit to their lifestyle.
