Walkways, Stone Steps, and Paths - Turf Exchange Turf Exchange is excited to showcase their recently completed landscaping , "Walkways, Stone Steps, and Paths," which improves accessibility and the visual appeal of a residence in Ventura County. Our professional team composed of landscape designers and landscape crafters designed a series of pathways that interconnect to provide thoughtful navigation through vegetation, while using local natural stone and pavers that beautifully blended with the surrounding environment. The process began with a complete site visit to assess high traffic areas and ensure that the design blended with and took advantage of the surrounding plantings. The experience included obstacles (e.g., varying surface elevations and grading and drainage complications) that necessitated creative problem solving. Our landscape crafters excavated, leveled and improved the grading and drainage issues while introducing elevations which created new and improved access points to the property. Material choices included a beautiful mix of sandstone and slate in order to create dynamic contrast and visual interest while allowing the paths to feel organic. The landscape crafters created a unique set of custom stone steps that considered safety, exploration, and visual appeal to the overall design while providing meaningful texture and safety features/falls zones that provided a sturdy hold and inviting aesthetic. Each piece of stone was hand selected to provide consistency in coloring and texture for a visually continuous pathway and texture which matched the taste of the homeowner. The finished result was stunning in its detail, and connected the pathways and stone stairs in a fashion that truly transformed the garden into a relaxing PR of tranquility. The clients were extremely pleased not only with the enhanced attractiveness of their property, but also with a functional space for family gatherings and enjoyment.
