The Wildwood project represents a transformative journey for a family of four relocating from Austin, Texas to the serene surroundings of South Lake Tahoe, California. Captivated by the home’s proximity to the ski hill and its enchanting wooded views, the family envisioned a space that blended rustic charm with modern sophistication. The scope of the project involved a comprehensive revamp of the first floor, addressing both functionality and aesthetics to create a welcoming and cohesive environment. Central to the design was the addition of a three-sided gas fireplace, serving as an elegant divider between the living and dining areas while enhancing the warmth and ambiance of the space. The kitchen underwent a thoughtful reconfiguration, incorporating a stylish bar and peninsula that not only improved the flow but also facilitated entertaining. Furthermore, the master suite was expanded into the adjacent guest bedroom, allowing for a luxurious upgrade to the master bath and a spacious walk-in closet, crucial for the family's needs. To harmonize the existing light pine wood flooring and vaulted wood ceilings with a more contemporary color palette, the design team opted for taupes and creams.
