The First Baptist Church in Jackson, MO, has undergone a remarkable transformation, merging traditional architectural elements with modern functionality. The project focused on completely remodeling the interior of the church to create an inviting and contemporary space conducive to worship and community gatherings. One of the most significant design choices involved the thoughtful treatment of the stained glass windows, which were closed in with plaster and paint. This alteration not only modernized the aesthetic but also enhanced the versatility of the space, allowing for varied lighting effects during services. The stage was revamped to accommodate musicians more effectively, enabling a more dynamic worship experience. To further enhance the auditory environment, sound-absorbing panels were strategically installed throughout the venue, complementing the new high-tech sound equipment that provides crystal-clear audio during performances and services alike. The introduction of advanced color-changing LED lighting fixtures—including spotlights, rope lighting along the side walls, and large hanging pendants—adds a vibrant flair, allowing for customizable atmospheres to suit different events and moods. In terms of flooring, new carpet was laid in the main area, offering comfort and warmth, while durable tile was installed in the vestibule and common areas for practical maintenance.
