Outline: Rustic Transitional Theme - Coto de Caza At My Garden: Landscape Design by Wayne, our goal is to create landscapes that are beautiful, showcase the natural environment, and recognize our clients’ particular needs. Recently, we deployed our skills on a new we called the 'Rustic Transitional Theme' in Coto de Caza, and we feel this exemplifies the quality we strive for. This expansive landscape combined rustic detail with an element of contemporary sophistication to create an approachable area for family gatherings or relaxation. Using a rich palette of natural stone, reclaimed wood, and ample green plant material, the then served to connect the outdoor space with the interior style. A flagstone path inspired by natural or guided style path connects guests and residents through the landscape and leads them past the carefully designed flower beds, made up of mainly native California plants to support local pollinators. As is frequently the case with property, the grade of the landscape and existing plants were a reality we had to overcome. To make this site more visually appealing while addressing drainage issues, we chose to use tiered garden beds for both functionality and aesthetic. My Garden installed a new bespoke irrigation system to maintain the new plant materials while conserving as much water as possible. The centerpiece of this is a custom fire pit surrounded by natural stone seating. As with all outdoor spaces, lighting requested for ambiance was also installed to enhance the atmosphere of the evening space and provide a safe and enjoyable gathering place. At the closeout, the clients were extremely happy with the transformation and stated that their outdoor space now felt like the true extension of their home. The rustic materials with transitional aspects have provided a beautiful place to live that encapsulates Southern California life.
