Long Grove Back Yard Renovation Poul's Landscaping & Nursery, Inc. is excited to present the Long Grove Back Yard Renovation, which was a process that changed outdoor living for a client. Located in Long Grove, Illinois, this complete renovation focused on the image and function of the outdoors by providing a beautiful space for family gatherings and quiet moments of relaxation. The started with an overall site observation with the goal of understanding the unique challenges associated with slope and drainage conditions. Our design group recognized the need for a tiered design and utilized natural stone walls and walkways to create a desirable flow throughout the landscape. We chose bluestone pavers for the patio, which provided both durable and attractive options. Along with beautiful native plantings, we created a garden space that had high color in the environment, which matched the surrounding natural environment, and any required maintenance was minimal and appealing to wildlife. The fire pit was constructed with natural boulders and was specifically made in “area” for those cozy nights around the fire. The irrigation system maintained for the healthy and vigor of the newly planted flora, and the strategic lighting created intriguing areas of the landscape for viewing after dusk. The team of planners had issues of existing tree roots and varied topography, but did a great job of maintaining the design integrity throughout the process. The final product is an aesthetically pleasing mix of flora and hardscape done with elegance and workmanship. The space provides the client with an entirely new outdoor living space that responded to their want and need to enjoy the outdoors.
