Revamp Thrash

The Thrash Remodel project in Grapevine, TX, transformed a dated 1980's kitchen into a modern and functional space that seamlessly integrates a home office. With a budget ranging from $50,001 to $75,000, this remodel addressed the critical issues of overcrowded appliances and the need for efficient workspace. The design focused on enhancing both form and functionality, ensuring that the kitchen would serve the family's culinary and professional needs. To begin, the project involved a complete overhaul of the existing layout. The original kitchen featured an impractical arrangement of appliances that limited workspace and created a cluttered feel. Our design team recommended a significant upgrade to the kitchen's appliances, replacing them with a high-end 48" range, a 42" built-in refrigerator, and a built-in microwave, allowing for better performance and aesthetics. This choice not only improved the kitchen's functionality but also elevated its overall style. The peninsula, which previously hindered flow, was removed, and cabinetry was extended toward the breakfast area, creating an open and inviting atmosphere. This strategic modification opened up the kitchen to the dining space, making it perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying family meals. The island was elongated, providing an abundance of storage and workspace while incorporating a designated seating area at one end, fostering a warm gathering spot for family and friends. Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of this remodel was the integration of a home office within the kitchen. By lowering a section of the countertop, we created a functional workspace that accommodates a pull-out printer and offers comfortable seating. This innovative solution allows the homeowner to balance work and home life seamlessly.
