Type: Circular Waterfront Garden Darien, CT Austin Ganim Landscape Design, LLC recently completed the Circular Waterfront Garden in Darien, CT, in which this beautiful outdoor space was transformed into an oasis of nature, design, and water. We aspire to do more quality and creative work for our clients located in Connecticut, Bridgeport, Stamford and Westport and this showcase work done. At the heart of the design is an intricate circular design that acts as a pretext for the use of native vegetation that flourishes in the coastal climate. We used a colorful mix of perennials, ornamental grasses, and evergreens to create a biodiverse garden with seasonal interest throughout the year. Winding its way through the garden is the stunning stone path, made from local bluestone, encouraging people to enjoy its stillness. The most notable challenge that we had to face was the sloped topography of the site, and how the drainage would work with all the landscaping to ensure that water would not pool anywhere and ruin the beauty of the place. Incorporating natural materialsfrom river rock to permeable paversour team achieved both functionality and aesthetics through a bio-retention system. What you end up with is a beautiful mix of a functional and a visual yard that is pleasing to the eye and the senses. Bringing together a natural oasis that connects the owners with each other and their future grandchildren while respecting this unique coastal ecology, the Circular Waterfront Garden creates a peaceful retreat as well as a space for family and friends. This is a great example of our dedication to good craftsmanship and our passion for beautiful responsible landscapes.
