Trinity Farm by terralab | landscape architects, llc Located in central Texas, Trinity Farm is a beautiful showcase of the impactful and impressive nature of landscape architecture, skillfully realized by terralab | landscape architects, llc. Serving all communities, from Houston to College Station, we fully embraced the site’s opportunities and the many challenges of the large property. The includes a thoughtful design of sustainable materials and native plantings, representing our values of creative and ecological sensibilities, using materials that will look good and enhance the natural quality of the site while fostering biodiversity. Drought-tolerant, native grasses and flowering perennials were specified to form a spectacular tapestry that thrives in the local environment. And the use of locally-sourced stone pathways, representative of the region, contribute both a durable walking surface and a rustic material quality that complements the pastoral nature of the farm. Among the greatest challenges were the variable topography and drainage issues of the site producing potential pooling of water which can lead to erosion; the landscape architect worked out a grading plan that included bio-swales and rain gardens to manage stormwater. Addressing these issues alleviated concerns of flooding while adding to the ecological functions of the landscapetransforming the challenges into features of the site. The final landscape is a spectacular landscape that invites the clients and family to explore the natural soothing setting. Winding paths lead to serene seating areas, colorful and lush gardens are animated by life, and all are designed thoughtfully for beauty and purpose. The clients were pleased with the transformation and expressed that Trinity has become a family gathering space for outdoor play and a retreat to simply unwind. Trinity Farm is a star example of terralab’s commitment to quality, creativity, and sustainability. Showcasing our dedication towards exceeding the clients’ expectations is an example of landmark value of landscape architecture to Aldine, Alief, and beyond.
