This full renovation had us taking a big area outdoors and turning it into an oasis, alongside a design that was both functional and beautiful. The conceptual design included a concrete patio, pathways, and retaining walls. The use of stamped concrete was key in creating an aesthetic and long-lasting surface, designed to resemble natural stone. A color was used that blended with the other plants naturally growing in the area. The property had some topographical challenges to consider. We worked as a team to grade the land ensuring proper drainage and stability and future erosion issues. The pathway and patio lights helped elevate functionality while serving a purpose into a lovely outdoor ambiance and lighted surroundings at night, creating the warm and inviting space we were tasked to create. Plants were used, although not part of the original ask, were strategically introduced in planters, along with ornamental grasses to soften the stark concrete pallets, introducing vibrant colors and textures. The results were a lovely outdoor space that matched Frank Arnold's request to create a literal sanctuary to get away to, along with the ability to host guests and entertain in. In the end, our clients were pleased with the work, quality, detail to match specifications and implementation.
