About This Project

Downtown Sanctuary by Outside Productions Inc. In the center of Naples, Outside Productions Inc. developed the “Downtown Sanctuary” to revive an unused urban space into a vibrant place that integrates nature and urban life into one space. The called for a robust planting plan that incorporated plant species native to Southwest Florida, selected for their ability to thrive in climatic conditions, support pollinators, and foster a biodiverse environment. The involved designing elements from eco-friendly building materials, including permeable pavers for the sidewalk to allow for water drainage and decreasing surface runoff, and sourcing natural stone for seating areas to help integrate the more closely into its surroundings. A central water feature made using natural boulders surrounded by aquatic plants was integrated into the design to create a calming atmosphere for users to retreat. The contained challenges due to limited space for the area and dealing with existing site improvements. Outside Productions Inc. overcame these restrictions by proposing vertical gardening solutions and multi-use spaces to allow functionality without compromising aesthetics. The results in a beautiful sanctuary for the downtown area that provides a place for gathering and relaxation in the community. The client is very pleased with the transformation of the landscape design and reported that it increased the vibrancy of the neighborhood. Downtown Sanctuary showcases the craftsmanship and sustainable landscaping mission of Outside Productions Inc. and provides a legacy for the Naples community.
