Fire Rebuild at Zenful Gardens Located in the heart of the wine region of California, Zenful Gardens began the Fire Rebuild a re-landscaping on a property that had been devastated by wildfire. Set in the ever-so-beautiful area north of San Francisco, around Bloomfield, Santa Rosa, and Sebastopol, the posed specific challenges such as ash-filled soils, eroded land, and the necessity of fire-resistant planting solutions. Our talented team designed a sustainable landscape that complements the local natural beauty of the area. Native plants like California lilac and manzanita, selected due to their existing low water needs and fire-resistance, were used by us. We made changes to help the property to become more resilient, placing locally available stone and gravel paths to add to both, the functionality and the beauty of the natural landscape. There was a beautiful outdoor gathering space in the , including a fire pit with seating made from reclaimed wood providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Attention to quality was reflected in everything from the stonework to the drought-resistant planting. We faced the challenge of creating a new ecosystem on previously scorched earth, so we used careful soil restoration techniques and innovative irrigation systems that conserve water. The final product not only revived the natural beauty of the property, it provided a haven for native wildlife and changed a barren wasteland back into a vibrant habitat. The client was extremely pleased with the result who praised the flawless combination of aesthetics, performance and environmental responsibility of the design. Not only had Zenful Gardens brought new life into their yard, but they had a true hand in bringing them back to the beauty and simplicity of nature, proving that even when chaos surrounds you, growth is still possible.
