Thoughtfully tested for tone, light, and materiality, this pays homage to the communities we serve; Applegate, Auburn, Chicago Park, Colfax, Grass Valley, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, North Auburn, Rocklin, Roseville, Sacramento, Lincoln, El Dorado Hills, Loomis, Granite Bay, Elk Grove, Nevada City, and Folsom. The commenced with an extensive consultation, delving into the client’s dreams of a serene poolside sanctuary. We infused the plant palette with colorful dry-adapted succulents, ornamental grasses, and perennials that not only did well in the semi-arid environment, but also united to produce a harmonious color- and texture-rich tapestry. By using natural stone and premium mulch, we made the plantings both attractive and sustainable, and low maintenance. The main challenge was the sloped side yard that surrounds the pool area. Our talented designers approached this by utilizing tiered planting beds so as to create interest while taking advantage of great drainage to prevent any water from pooling. We were also challenged to find ways to develop privacy without blocking the peaceful view of the land. We chose tall, purposely planted shrubs and ornamental trees that will no only serve as a privacy screen, but will also add some height/depth to the space. The completed product is a stunning oasis the client is thrilled with, and be able to provide more outdoor living experience. The pool is framed by lush plantings that bring local wildlife in, creating a micro-ecosystem. Now, clients can swim, sunbathe and socialize outdoors in the natural beauty by or on the water.
