About This Project

'Urban Residential' landscape design by Sophie Bignet Landscape Design 'Urban Residential' is located in the heart of Boston, where modern design meets outdoor living. At Sophie Bignet Landscape Design, we take pride in investing our efforts in converting concrete to green, allowing our clients to experience nature in an urban setting. This was an investment of time, skill, and creativity aimed at fulfilling a client's specific needs. This design has a beautiful palette of native plantings that thrive in the metropolis and in an effort to create biodiversity. We used drought-tolerant perennials as well as bright ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs to introduce color and texture throughout the growing seasons. Sustainable materials were the centerpiece of the design. We used permeable pavers as the path separators to optimize drainage and minimize heat retention. A key design challenge is efficiently maximizing the functionality of a small area, while maintaining aesthetics. We created multi-level terraces that facilitate both interest and outdoor living space. A built-in fire pit in a cozy seating nook is ideal for entertaining friends or unwinding at the end of the day. In keeping with our urban theme, we used ambience lighting to illuminate the perishables throughout the landscape without compromising safety for night-time accessibility. Ultimately, the was executed seamlessly after managing logistical challenges. Tight access and environmental impact were challenges to minimize, and I think it's safe to say that the finish was simply gorgeous the client loved the outcome and being able to blend natural surroundings to their urban environment. Not only is the landscape stunning, but it is a beautiful outdoor retreat amidst the hectic city. At Sophie Bignet Landscape Design, we pride ourselves on proving that the city can be a lush retreat.
