In the heart of Mandeville, LA, the "Unobstructed" project redefined the essence of open living. The homeowners sought a transformative space that prioritized functionality, a consistent ceiling height, and unobstructed views of their picturesque backyard. To accomplish this vision, we embarked on a comprehensive redesign that completely removed the dividing walls between key living areas, fostering a seamless flow throughout the home. This strategic demolition not only enhanced the spaciousness but also allowed natural light to permeate every corner, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Central to this transformation was a meticulously reimagined kitchen layout. The design features an expansive contemporary L-shaped configuration, providing ample counter workspace and storage solutions that meet the demands of modern living. The choice of light wood flooring paired with brown accents establishes an inviting contrast that elevates the overall aesthetic. The kitchen boasts a farmhouse sink, flat-panel white cabinets, and elegant quartzite countertops, harmonizing both style and utility. The inclusion of a subway tile backsplash complements the contemporary theme while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. To maximize the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, we reworked the exterior windows and doors, further enhancing the views of the backyard from every angle.
