Drainage / Lawn Drainage by Sylvia’s Landscaping Company, LLC Sylvia's Landscaping Company, LLC has recently completed a complete drainage that transformed both the landscape and livability of a residential property in Northbrook. The goal of the was to eliminate standing water in the yard, which was detrimental to the appeal of the space and made it unsuitable for outdoor activity. We first completed an exhaustive analysis of the site to figure out the source of the drainage issue. The analysis revealed insufficient grading and a soil composition conducive to standing water making a marshland more appealing. We installed a full drainage system, including a French drain, catch basins, and strategic downspouting to control drainage off the property. We used reliable products, including perforated PVC piping that exceeded the standard, heavy gravel to ensure that our product would produce quality results. Installing the drainage system required an arduous effort, including excavating the site and appropriately sloping the drain once established. Our skilled team encountered challenges from rocky soil and its pre-existing landscape, but we executed our installation with care. We restored most of the lawn with a drought-resistant sod that accentuated the overall landscape. We finished the with decorative gravel sidewalks and native plantings. These features aesthetically charged and ecologically balanced the area. The end product exceeded the expectations of our client. They were satisfied to use the yard without the worry of muddy grasses or assaults from birds.
