This residential haven tucked away amongst the rolling hills of Austin was rebuilt to be the gorgeous, elegant yet functional escape you see above. After first evaluating the distinct landform and soil characteristics of the property, the native plants that would sustain and increase biodiversity within the already favourable climate, were carefully chosen. It incorporates a range of colorful, climate-appropriate plants including ornamental grasses, Texas sage, and perennials to provide year-round interest and color. One of the focal points features custom built natural stone pathways and retaining walls, using locally sourced materials which meld seamlessly with the region. They provide interest as well as offsetting the slope of the property where drainage would be a significant concern to the vision of the clients. The outdoor living space that serves as a gathering place for family, including a handcrafted pergola that provides shade and comfort, is one of the yard highlights. Quality composite decking makes sure the longevity, along with aesthetic that matches the overall design aesthetic. We had the challenge of installing modern irrigation and including water conservation and healthy plant growth. Such an environmentally sound practice complements our sustainable landscaping efforts. At the end of it all, the client could not believe the transformation and described their new outdoor space as a tranquil oasis that complements their way of life and adds value to their property.
