Landscape Improvement by Northern Colorado Landscaping Northern Colorado Landscaping recently completed an extensive renovation of a large landscape area at a client's home. The outdoor space was changed from an ordinary area to a wonderful, functional oasis. The renovations included an elaborate combination of a well-drained berm, a designated irrigation system, sod, trees and hardscaping. The design and construction of a well-drained berm was the first phase of the . The ornamental purposes of a berm adds greatly to the esthetics of the outdoor area and also helps much with the erosion of any soil before the planting of the decorative plants. The berm was designed using good quality native soil along with several different types of plants to form a natural slope that provided depth and beauty to the renovation. Following the construction of the berm, an irrigation system was put into place that would serve to provide irrigation to the new sod and trees while limiting its over distribution. Sod was chosen that would be adapted to the environment of Northern Colorado to provide good growth of a green area for the client year round. A number of different trees were added as ornamental and functional reasons o provide structure and a natural assemblage. Among the hardscaping that was included in the , was a beautiful stone pathway along with a patio arrangement that added to the relaxation and entertainment aspects of the exterior of the premises. The hardscaping materials were durable as well as locally available materials that meshed well with the natural contour of the area. During the course of the , several unique and trying experiences were encountered like changed conditions of soil and heat that provided unusual obstacles to contend with, and overall care and planning were accomplished to insure that every detail was applied in a professional manner. The final result was a successful and beautiful outdoor landscape that not only fit the client's needs, but met and exceeded all of their expectations, providing an exterior area that enhanced the value of their property as well as their means of enjoyment in this area.
