Eclectic Backyard Garden by Garden Gate Landscaping Located in North Bethesda, this d the 'Eclectic Backyard Garden' is the signature work of Garden Gate Landscaping. A transformation of the site's landscape, this landscaping combines a variety of plants, unique hardscaping, and sustainable practices into a beautiful outdoor living area. The design uses colourful and dynamic native plants which are ideal for the site’s conditions and climate while being adaptable across the seasons to create ongoing interest and support biodiversity in the area. There are remarkable features, like the custom stone fire pit and meandering flagstone path, to draw guests into the area to relax, explore, and entertain. In a way that is stunning, we used locally sourced materials to create a dry creek bed that captures and drains water runoff while also solving a drainage issue the homeowner was dealing with. Our skilled team also integrated tall grasses and flowering perennials around the yard to create layers of visual depth and texture. With each comes its own degree of difficulty, and for this , we were faced with a sloped terrain, which called for some unique installations to connect and stabilize the site as one cohesive space. Our capable team then sculpted the slope, returning contour and an inviting layout that fosters an outward connection in the yard to fight off the confines of the built environment. When the was complete, the client was ultimately pleased with the final product - a unique garden that shows personality without losing aesthetic alignment to the neighbourhood while still fostering memories of family and local wildlife in the rear yard.
